Management's Perspective – Fall 2025

Our first six months as producers in Mantorp have been largely characterized by the availability (or rather the shortage) of Swedish meat. This raw material has historically been central for the Mantorp factory and, consequently, decisive for both sales volumes and profitability in the short term. We are now in a situation where we know that the shortage of Swedish meat has a significant impact on food production in Sweden and will continue to have an impact in the long term as well.

This development naturally involves risks in the form of increased costs, pressure on delivery capacity, and potentially reduced competitiveness. But the shortage also presents opportunities: to develop our business by broadening the product range and increasingly working with alternative Swedish raw materials.

The factory is already working today with fairly large volumes of alternative raw materials, such as legumes (including our own brand Stacky's ), Swedish chicken, game, root vegetables, and cereals, and by combining these with beef and pork, dependency on a single raw material is reduced.

The strategy for 2026 is therefore a dual approach: to secure access to meat to the extent possible and necessary, but at the same time invest in new raw material bases, development initiatives, collaborations, and always prioritize new customers who demand production based on alternative raw materials/hybrids.

Someone once said “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” and that is exactly how we think now that we have the opportunity to strengthen our role as the player truly driving Swedish food production forward.
